Nico Laan was born in Nibbixwoud (1956) and studied textile design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague (cum laude 1985). Since 1985 he has been working as a freelance photographer and designer. He teaches at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and The Hague University.
2009 Projects: Anamorphosis, Boekenzo, Portrait of a Family, photography Boekids, portraits and photography for website Hague University, stage design for theater school Rabarber, graphics and photography for the Elementree Foundation.
2008 Kite project Reutersvärd, design for an underwater photo project for the cultural center Lindenberg in Nijmegen (not executed), photography book Academy of Social Professions.
